John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who was a specialist in folk pop music inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born musician and singer who fell in love with Colorado. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state has drawn a lot of people to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the hall's curator of fame, said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver became the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Denver is now the embodiment of the state to people all over. Certainly in my travels you encounter someone on the other side of the world or someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes out of their mouth is"Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads - cowritten with Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short stint in small folk bands. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the tune, however Denver realized that it could be a huge hit after the song was first heard by him. A few days after the performance to a throng of fans on the streets of Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
